Welcome to the Canadian Art Hop.

April 25 - 28, 2024 across Canada.

From coast to coast, The Canadian Art Hop spotlights the diverse and dynamic tapestry of arts through commercial galleries, artist-run centres, and public museums and galleries.

Embracing a multitude of mediums, styles, and narratives, the participating spaces are highlighted as hubs of creativity, fostering dialogue and engagement within their communities during the weekend and thereafter.

Participants should expect great art, interesting programming, and the ability to visit these spaces thereafter.

About the participants

ADAC Member Galleries

The Art Dealers Association of Canada (ADAC) is a not-for-profit trade organization that represents commercial art galleries in Canada. Members are trusted venues for the public to view, learn about, and purchase historical, modern, and contemporary fine art. All participating ADAC galleries are free to visit.

AGAC Member Galleries

The Contemporary Art Galleries Association (AGAC) is a non-profit organization of contemporary art galleries across Canada. The association fosters the public’s interest in visual arts and encourages the emergence of new contemporary art collectors. All participating AGAC galleries are free to visit.

Public Institutions

Public institutions include museums, public art galleries, and libraries across Canada. They are non-commercial, and focus on public programming, exhibitions, education, and research. Participating public institutions showcase a diverse range of historical, modern, and contemporary art. Some charge admission — please visit the museum or gallery website for specific information.

Artist-Run Centres

Artist-run centres are owned and managed by artists. They present exhibitions of paintings, sculptures, installations, performance, and video art by artists across Canada. Many artist-run centres also support their communities through public programming and free admission.

Auction Houses

An auction house is a commercial venue where works of art are exhibited and sold. Auctions take place online and in-person, and artworks are displayed in person at the auction house for public viewing.
